The claimant was a 57 year old mechanical technician. Whilst the claimant was riding his motorcycle the defendant, travelling the opposite direction, collided with the claimant.
As a result of the accident the claimant suffered the following injuries:-
• Fracture to the mid shaft of the right femur
• Fracture of the right knee
• Fracture dislocation of the right foot
• Nerve damage and scarring to the right leg and foot
• Recurrent depressive disorder.
The claimant had been unable to carry out his full duties as a mechanical technician when he returned to work and was dismissed from his employment 29 months post accident, then aged 59 years. He was unlikely to gain further employment.
Following a joint settlement meeting, the claimant's damages were settled in the agreed global sum of £275,170.
