Whilst the claimant, a retired 76-year-old, was shopping in Tesco, she slipped on a substance on the floor causing her to fall to the ground. She landed on her right side, hitting her head on the floor and striking her knee on a metal rail.
Following the accident she complained of the following injuries;-
- Fracture to the left knee.
- Double vision and oscillopsia.
- Acute stress reaction and subsequent development of specific phobia together with an adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood.
Following negotiation, the claimant's damages were settled in the agreed gross sum of £57,536.95.
